First purchase of 2010...

....well sort of.  I actually had THOUGHT I purchased these fabulous boots (which I've been wanting to buy for a good year or so) on the tail end of 2009.  After much searching by a very dedicated Nordstrom employee (the ever so helpful Megan Clark at Alderwood), they were ordered (and subsequently charged to my debit card) TWICE! However, both transactions fell through (tear) and every time my phone rang with a Seattle number my heart gave a little jolt of excitement...and dread. It could go one of two ways. "Yes, Jamie, we found them!"  Happy face! Or. "Nope, lady, you're still a shit out of luck."  Sad face.  Today was another call in line with the latter.  "Sorry," blah, blah, blah, "can't find them," blah, blah, blah. "Sucks to be you," blah, blah, blah.  But this time Miss Clark had another idea.  She told me about the glossy, black Hunter boot which, she assured me, is very similar to the pair I've been so desperate to get my little, in-dire-need-of-a-manicure hands on.  And I ever so politely informed her that...

...those were the boots I had ordered, and been trying to get all along.

Hmm. Not sure where the line of communication broke down between myself and the store employee who first helped me, but alls well that ends well, right? And I should expect my new boots to arrive in about...a month.  Better late than never, huh? Well, as long as my new boots aren't so tardy they become my first purchase of 2011, that is.

What's all the fuss? you're wondering.  Well, I say, I live in the Pacific Northwest, the place where it rains...A LOT.  And since I've lived here (which is quite beautiful and green, so no, the rain doesn't bother me) I've NEVER owned a pair of galoshes! So, friends, these little gems are 18 years in the making...and they're cute too.
