Happy Heart Day!

I'm just one of those people that has always loved Valentine's Day; even when I was a single gal about town. What's not to love about a day dedicated to all things L.O.V.E? It's about telling those you love, how very much you love them and presenting them with little trinkets of affection...and then there's the candy...can't forget about the candy.  Now, I also understand the notion that we should tell those near and dear to our hearts how very much we love them EVERY day of the year, not just one day of a short month where it rains a lot; which I gladly do. I guess what I love most about Valentine's Day are the displays in store windows! The varying shades of pink and red items waiting to be exchanged for green. The heart-shaped wares of all sorts just looking for a loving home. The cards, with sayings of sweet nothings and "I'll love you forever", with the occasional "I love to hate you" card thrown in to even out the scale. The candy, the cupcakes, the cookies decorated in the frosting colors of love and looking just too good to eat.  It's a feeling in the air, a disturbance in the force, that overhead, fly heart-shaped clouds sprinkling little drops of love instead of rain.  It's the cheesy goodness of the list of items I just mentioned.  It's a day where maybe, just maybe, we can all just get along.

I know, pathetically cheesy.  But cheese can be good...especially cheesecake.

And especially if it's heart-shaped, dyed pink and covered with red sprinkles.

Happy Valentine's Day, to you and yours.
xoxo
