Oh. Em. Gee. I am a terrible blogger! I mean well, truly I do. But weeks upon weeks seem to add up quicker than something that is really, REALLY, quick! And before I know it, months have passed since my last blog entry. It's just pathetic. Made more so by the fact that I go on the internet nearly every day, so there is no excuse for my lazy blogging behavior (LBB). To help fix this problem, I've added 'blogging more than once every six months' to my little list of resolutions for the new year. Other resolutions include, but are not limited to:
1. Get into shape. Like, REALLY this time. This always seems to top my list from year to year ever since I met my husband and started eating everything in sight (but he's a cook, what can I do?). Last year I made some progress; I started doing booty camp a few times a week and I definitely saw an improvement in my overall fitness level. Sadly, the 5:30am start time became an issue; considering I really don't have any reason to be up so early...ever. And I'm a night owl! It's very rare to see me sleeping before midnight; very rare indeed. Now I do a cardio kick-boxing class 4 or 5 times a week at 10am (a much more suitable hour for my current lifestyle). Okay, getting to the point: working out is just part of the equation. I really need to fix my diet. I heart carbs! Oh and dessert. Oh and wine. This is a problem. So that's what this year is all about! Eating healthy and really kickin' it up a notch (pun intended).
2. Pay off debt. For those of you not aware, my hubby and I moved in with my parents last year. Mostly we did it so we could afford a nice wedding (without going into severe debt trying to do so); I really did NOT expect my parents to pay for everything. I just couldn't let that happen. Our wedding was a-MAZING and so worth every penny!! Since we'd been living with my parents we were able to pay for almost everything in cash. Almost everything. We owe a little moola here and there; who doesn't? (and if we owe you money, don't fret, we'll pay you before 2011 is through!) :) Good golly, weddings are expensive! So this year will be about paying off our debt so we can begin to save for what really is the most important reason we moved in with my parents in the first place: to buy a house! And just to clarify: Caleb and I didn't move in with my 'rents because we couldn't afford to live on our own. We can and did. But after spending nearly 20 grand renting an apartment for 2 years, we decided that the best decision for us was to take my parents offer to live with them and SAVE money! Oh and my parents are fabulous...so it was a no brainer.
3. Blog more.
See, I told you my list was little.
Oh and my first purchase of 2011 is....drum roll....Nook Color! (And don't worry, it technically was a gift since I got money for Christmas; no new debt was accumulated in the purchasing of this item). :)
Happy New Year everyone! xoxo
